Let the community build a spiritual successor AND the "remaster".
Their new ground units improve their defense, and their resource income can now be increased in both their primary and secondary economy. The United States army improved their durability with new upgrades, modified Ambulances that can repair vehicles, and new drone types.
Id rather them release the source code to generals/sage engine. Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour USA Units. it was scrapped mid-way and EA messily recycled it with the intention of turning it into a pay-to-win title with a focus on online-leaderboard play.ĮA has no interest other than profit still, so the hopes of seeing "Generals 2" is exceedingly low. Keep in mind, CNC:4 /was/ generals 2 engine. So we wont be seeing Generals be Remastered, simply due to having no one to work on it that wont turn it into CNC:4. EA fired that team and they are currently working for a company under Microsofts control. The downside of this all is, Westwood wasnt involved with Generals, it was a new team (with some old westwood members). Worse then anything the community can do, a complete money-grab. If EA were involved directly, it would be like the Rockstar GTA3 remastered mess, AI upscaled assets and just a recompiled source with modern toolchain. This is why it was successful, the former Westwood team and Frank Klepacki who made the original soundtrack for CNC/RA series (But not Generals) were responsible for it. Keep in mind EA wasnt involved with CNC-Remastered, they just took the publishing funds and slapped DRM on it. I would start working on a generals 2 and be v e r y careful not to mess it up.
